The Agreement on Agriculture (AoA), achieved after long and difficult negotiations of the Uruguay Round and implemented in 1995, has been a foundation for gradual reform of the agricultural sector. The long-term objective of this reform is to create an environment for development of a fair and market-oriented agricultural trading system. All signatories of the WTO Agreement agreed also to undertake negotiations for continuation of the reform process in agriculture. A proposal by Poland.
