Rural Community Development
IATP works to evaluate the
potential impact of fisheries standards and policies on rural community development, including collaboration with academic researchers from a
number of different institutions and areas of expertise.
We
are often called upon to provide organizational and strategic technical
assistance to community groups working to protect fish habitats, including major river and estuarine
systems. Over the past two years, this
has included work focused on the Mississippi, Missouri, Red, Columbia and
Delaware Rivers and on the Great Lakes and Chesapeake Bay. IATP staff have prepared major studies and
economic analyses to help shape innovative and influential public policy
recommendations.
