Promoting Fish-Friendly Farming, Ranching and Forestry

IATP develops and promotes fish-friendly farming, ranching and forestry production methods. This includes a special focus on reducing nutrient, pesticide and sediment run-off through the restoration of woody buffers along riparian corridors and other conservation practices. We work with a wide range of farm, ranch, rural community and forestry organizations and with public and private landowners and managers to promote fish-safe practices.

We conduct on-farm demonstration projects and extension education programs to help farmers, ranchers and other land owners to adopt and apply alternative production practices designed to reduce water contamination that is destroying fish habitat.
