Over the past year, IATP has invited allies from the Global South and North to share their experiences with agroecology in a series of case studies. They demonstrate innovative approaches that enhance the food system, grounded in food sovereignty. In this paper we offer excerpts from those case studies that highlight the importance of integrated solutions.

Virtual Town Hall with MN Agriculture Chairs

Join us for a Virtual Town Hall with Rep. Samantha Vang, Chair of the Minnesota House Agriculture Committee, and Sen. Aric Putnam (Chair of the Minnesota Senate Agriculture Committee) focused on finalizing an Ag Budget that delivers for small and mid-sized farmers, emerging and beginning farmers, local processors, our local food economy, and all Minnesotans. The first 45 minutes will feature speakers who are leaders in our farm and food system. The final 15 minutes will be a Q + A portion.

IATP Tribute to Patti Landres

Former IATP staffer Patti Landres died from cancer on April 16. Patti joined IATP in 2004 as a research assistant in IATP’s Food and Health Program and for Health Care Without Harm, a coalition of which IATP was a founding member. She continued to provide research assistance as her role evolved to become the conservator of IATP’s history, archives and library.

Agriculture ministers must tackle industrial livestock’s methane emissions to meet global methane pledge

MINNEAPOLIS/LONDON—Today, more than 25 Agriculture Ministers and high-level representatives from around the world are gathered in Chile to discuss how they can contribute to the implementation of the Global Methane Pledge. As agriculture is the world’s largest source of anthropogenic methane, it is positive to see ministers engage on the issue.
