Mercury is a dangerous neurotoxin that can make its way up the food chain into humans, and poses an increased exposure risk to developing fetuses and young children, causing permanent learning disabilities. IATP was one of over 90 U.S. and international organizations sending this letter last week to President Obama asking for U.S. support of an international agreement to control mercury pollution and reduce human exposures to mercury, a toxic heavy metal.
