On Sunday, Daunte Wright, a young Black father and member of our Minnesota community, was tragically and fatally shot by a policer officer in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis. Our thoughts are with the grieving loved ones and community of Daunte, whose life was taken senselessly and too soon.
IATP is deeply committed to social and racial justice, and we envision an end to the violent nature of institutional racism and a just transformation toward social justice globally. Racist violence has no place within this vision. In grief and solidarity, we join countless other community members and organizations in demanding a dismantling of institutional racism, an end to police brutality and justice for Daunte Wright and all who have died because of acts of racism.
