As the world's nations consider strategies to tackle climate change, little attention has been given to the intersection of energy intensive industrial agriculture and global distribution systems combined with trade agreements. "When all of the energy demands of these systems are aggregated, agriculture is likely to emerge as the single greatest source of global greenhouse emissions, and by a substantial margin". This report is as timely today as when it was published in 2002.
