Statement by Peter Coppelman of KAW on the FDA's Draft Guidance for Industry. KAW raises the key question as to whether the FDA is going to reevaluate the safety of antibiotics already approved for use in animal agriculture, because this is where the greatest current danger to public health lies. KAW found the answer in the Draft Guidance is a definite “maybe." and there is no commitment or timetable for the FDA to take any action or even begin to take action on any specific drug.
