FRANKFURT (AFX) - RWE AG's Thames Water unit is in final negotiations to sell its majority stakes in two facilities in Chile, reported the Financial Times Deutschland, citing a Thames Water spokeswoman.
'We are concentrating talks on one bidder,' the spokeswoman told the newspaper.
Although she did not name a possible purchase price for the two stakes, industry insiders cited by the newspaper place the value of the two stakes at around 300 mln eur.
The two stakes up for sale are a 51 pct stake in Empresa de Servicios Sanitarios del Bio Bio SA (ESSBIO), and a 99 pct stake in Aguas Nuevo Sur Maule (ANSM).
The Chilean facilities are the latest in a string of asset sales RWE has made, in a drive to sell its unprofitable facilities outside its main British and American markets.Copyright AFX News Limited 2005
