The USDA Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) units are reporting difficulty in recruiting qualified staff particularly at the entry (field crew) level.
Entry level jobs typically require a BS degree in forestry or a related natural resource field, ability to identify plant species, familiarity with elementary mensuration and surveying techniques, and a willingness to work long hours in remote areas with minimal supervision. Recent graduates with degrees in forestry or other natural resource related field are encouraged to inquire. Please
direct an inquiry to each FIA headquarters office for the area of the USA where you would be interested in working.
