Seattle 1999 brought the WTO on to the global public stage. Now governments from all 140 member states will meet again to discuss new and existing rules which govern international trade.

The OneWorld trade campaign site www.oneworld.net/campaigns/trade/ includes:

- the latest updates from organisations like Third World Network, Oxfam, World Development Movement, Christian Aid and Corporate Watch. - stories on trade from alternative news agencies like Gemini News and Inter Press Service - suggested action and ways to become involved in changing world trade to work for the world's poor - background introductory guides to International Trade, GATS and Fair Trade - links to organisations and online resources on the movement for trade justice - a search engine to 1.5 million online documents on global issues

Trade has become the key global issue for a growing number of NGOs, campaign organisations and citizens worldwide. Together they share a concern about the negative impact of international trade rules on the poorest people in the world, on the environment and on democracy.

Calls for fundamental change of the unjust rules and institutions governing international trade continue to grow.
