BRUSSELS - The European Union's executive body said on Wednesday it had approved proposals to reform the bloc's banana import rules in a bid to end a long-running dispute with the United States and Latin American producers. EU officials hope the reforms will lead to the lifting of almost $200 million of sanctions imposed by the United States after it won a World Trade Organisation (WTO) case against the EU's existing banana policies.Reuters:
