The USDA says it knew nothing about the contamination of the US corn supply with the unapproved genetically engineered StarLink corn? They should have known there is no system in place to segregate corn used in animal feed from the human food supply and there is no system in place to monitor whether farmers were following growing instructions. And they certainly should have known that a certain degree of contamination through pollen drift was inevitable.
