Chile says measure protects fish stocks
April 26 - Fishmonger News Network - Preparations are under way by the World Trade Organization to challenge restrictions by Chile on European Union catches from the high seas in Chile's local ports.
Spain's Association for High Seas Fisheries says the Chilean government has implemented a false conservation measure that violates WTO freedom of trade and import rules.
Chile had announced that the import restriction was aimed at conserving fish stocks in its territorial waters.:
