GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) LESSON PLAN AND A GIS EDUCATIONAL GUIDE
Newly developed, this lesson plan helps middle school students and higher understand the basics of GIS. It uses materials on the Internet to teach different GIS concepts. The lesson plan can be found at http://www.iic.state.mn.us/download/chad_docs/2000/gis_plt_lesson_plan.pdf.
The Educational Guide is a report showing different GIS land uses and ownership data in northeastern MN. The report highlights the importance of knowing where the data you are using comes from (how it is collected).
