This presentation is in three parts: first, some general comments about intellectual property rights and the direction the world is moving in the evolution of global IPR standards; then to address the question of how the TRIPS Agreement impacts the environment and food issues such as food security and biotechnology; third, some proposals for the Millennium Round.
