The Forest Guild, a national organization of natural resource professionals, studied projects implemented as part of the Healthy Forest Initiative (HFI) and the Healthy Forest Restoration Act (HFRA) to assess their ecological and social impact. According to the report, the federal government needs to improve the record keeping and increase public participation in planning fuel reduction treatments used to lower the risk of forest fires.
