Slow Death by Rubber Duck

Join us for IATP's new book club! We'll have lively discussion of books on issues affecting fair trade, local food, sustainability, community and other topics around the food we eat and the people who grow it. The group will meet on the third Tuesday of every other month. Everyone is welcome, and there's no commitment—come when the book appeals to you! The event is free to attend, but you'll need to provide your own book. Our next meeting is July 19, when we will be discussing Slow Death by Rubber Duck by Rick Smith and Bruce Lourie; how a dare between two friends became a revealing lesson about how toxins in everyday products affect us all. Also, mark you calendar for September 20, when we will take a look at Four Fish: The Future of the Last Wild Food by Paul Greenberk, an entertaining and nuanced exploration of our historical relationship with wild fish.
