Job Description

Since 2013, IATP has worked with Head Start programs across the state of Minnesota to implement Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE) initiatives. These initiatives are based on three core components: local foods in meals and snacks, food- and farming-themed classroom activities, and family engagement and outreach. At the same time, we work closely with our partners to tailor their Farm to Head Start activities to their own individual community setting. This internship will be focused on collecting, documenting and sharing each Head Start partner’s story of implementing their unique Farm to Early Care model. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project outcome: create 7 two-page case studies on each Head Start partner’s process of planning and implementing a Farm to ECE initiative

 Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Collecting pertinent background program information (geographic location, foodservice operation, program goals, Leadership Team members, etc.)
  • Collaborating with IATP Communications team to develop a plan for design/ layout and release of case studies
  • Interviewing select Leadership Team members at each program
  • Drafting narrative of each case study
  • Other tasks/projects, as assigned

START DATE: June 1, 2018

LOCATION: Minneapolis Office

DURATION/HOURS: 8 hours/week (3 month internship)

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent writing skills. Research experience preferred. Ideal candidate would be self-directed and able to work well independently.
